Coming Soon… Hadassah and Pixie, Lady Mae, Naomi and Ruth and Delilah and their forever home stories…
This is my sweet girl Abby who I adopted from Lynn. She is such a wonderful addition to my family. Lynn was such a help with any questions or concerns. Abby has conversations with my dog. FYI my dog is over 100lbs and is a Rottweiler mix. She follows him around like any little sister. She cuddles with me on the couch. Nothing beats her smile, wagging tale and who doesn’t love a good snout kiss. I wish I could have brought the others with me. They make wonderful pets, probably cleaner than my dog and cat. And most importantly she’s a lover.
Patsy and Shiloh
From the first picture I saw on God’s grace rescue page, I knew patsy was special. I told my husband, this horse was going to live here with us someday. I watched and followed her journey closely including the bonus baby Shilo. I had reached out early on to the rescue. When the time felt right, I filled out my application and went to meet Patsy. I was a nervous wreck the entire trip 4 plus hours. (Husband had to stop way too many times on the way).I was so afraid she’d hate me or we wouldn’t connect. Great news she did connect to me and didn’t even mind my husband. They were so welcoming that we hung out several hours and met the other animals. Application in and process was easy on my end. References were called and board voted to allow them both to live with me. I hardly slept the night before picking them up. Another long drive (again with too many stops for my liking), we arrived and again did some visiting, crying and lots of hugs. Patsy loaded up in our trailer like she’s been doing it out while life. Shilo needed some assistance, more tears and hugs, I brought this sweet couple home. Thank you to God’s grace rescue for everything they’ve done for Patsy. She’s settling in here great, letting me work with both of them. She’s enjoying her pasture and daily runs with Shilo. I can’t wait to see what’s she’s like in 6 months. God’s Grace Rescue and their volunteers are truly doing great work.
Magic the mini mare came to the God’s Grace rescue after being neglected for a couple years. With lots of bones showing from being malnourished and cuts on both her left legs, she had emotional damage. She would not let anyone, and I mean anyone, come near or touch her. You would have to work hard to catch her. The moment I first saw the tiny black mini, I was drawn to her. I wanted to help her feel better. I would kneel a couple feet in front of her until she would let me give her kisses. She was completely against this at first. But due to a lot of treats and apples, she managed. Today, Magic is literally one of the most sassiest mares you will find. If you touch her ears, she’ll flop her head like a drama queen. If you don’t give her all the treats she wants, she’ll nudge you to tell you that you forgot to give her the treat. Magic has filled out very very nicely and her mane, tail and coat is so so so sooooo pretty. Magic has the kindest heart under her sassiness
Grace is a mini Mediterranean donkey. Before Grace came to the rescue she had never touched by anyone and was headed to slaughter until When she arrived her coat was horrible, her mane was falling out, incredibly skinny compared to the barrel she is today and was frightened by anything and everything. You could see in her eyes that she was scared and needed some love and time to become the amazing sassy girl she is today. She has grown into a very fluffy donkey with a spitfire attitude, challenging her mother a lot. Grace loves her mommy a lot and really only lets her do anything, with of course the occasional bad day. Grace is a sweet little donkey but her attitude makes her seem like a huge flaming ball of sass.
Angel and Her Baby
Angel was rescued with Magic at the horse auction. She was in the best condition of the three but still covered in lice. We had no idea that she was pregnant even with vet checks. She hid her baby well. Her and her baby are staying together forever. She was also adopted with Cloud and living their happily ever after!
Cloud was rescued with Magic and Angel. She was also in very bad shape as you can see from the pictures. She came around quickly with groceries and love. Now she is living her forever life with her friend Angel and Thunder.
Charity and Baby Joey
A friend of mine sent me a link to a kill pen that had two pregnant donkeys that needed to be bailed out in Kansas. I showed my husband, a friend raised the bail money for them and my husband and I drove over 12 hours round trip to pick them up. She had been scheduled to go to Mexico on the next truck. Charity was covered in flies and thin and sick but it didn’t take long to bring her back to health. Six weeks after bringing Charity here she delivered a perfect baby boy that we named Joseph aka Joey. We raised Joey here until his forever family came and now he is living with his forever family.

Elmer a 4 yo mini donkey has been adopted!
I wanted to share my experience I have had with God’s Grace Rescue! It changed my life!! I received a phone call from Lynn 1 day asking me if I could foster a horse who was severely emaciated and the owner agreed to hand this boy ( We named him Lucas) over to her Rescue but she had no room. Well..I have never fostered an animal before and I have not had a horse since I was 12…I am 52 now, so I was a little nervous, but honestly I could not say no! I had no knowledge or experience nursing an animal back to health, but I didn’t need to have either! Lynn knew exactly what he needed and provided me with everything and told me what to do. Within days he started gaining weight and the sparkle was coming back into his eyes! All I had to do was follow her instructions and just give him as much love as I could give him! If I ever had a question or concern ( which I had many..lol) she was right there! Every morning when I would walk into the barn I could see a little bit more life in his eyes and a little bit more of his true sweet personality coming out!! It was one of the most rewarding and amazing feeling I have ever experienced! Someday when I have more room I would love to foster another animal in need for God’s Grace! The heart, the dedication and knowledge this Rescue has is amazing! I totally fell in love with Lucas…as he was healing he grew to trust me and our bond is pretty strong! I just could not let him go and adopted him so I could spoil him rotten forever! And Lynn is still right here for me if I need her advice or help!
Jake and Tabby
Hey everyone, it’s Levi! My new mom wanted me to check in and let everyone know how my adoption went with Miss Lynn, Mr. Jim and Miss Terrye. First, I gotta say, I’m so thankful for my soft landing at God’s Grace Animal Rescue. Even though they took my manhood away shortly after my arrival. Something about me being a S.T.U.D. (like I can’t spell…pfft!). Anyway, after I healed up, I went to my new home on foster to adopt. Something about my new mom had to see how well I got along with my new big brother who was away in Florida for training before she could officially adopt me. C’mon…who can resist ALL this cuteness! Something about me being a P.O.N.Y. (again, like I can’t spell). Then came the time to go pick up big brother from training and I got to go along on the trip. My big brother is SUPER cool and we play a lot together. I guess I won her over and decided to make my adoption official even though I pick on him because, well, I am still a P.O.N.Y. (hehe). My new life is SO much better than being tied to that tree with a halter embedded in my face. My mom said all the paperwork went really smoothly and would highly recommend God’s Grace Animal Rescue to adopt a new furry, hooved friend. So what are you waiting for? Go find your new best friend!
Several months ago I was sitting at work and my coworker showed me the story of a donkey that was eventually named Love. Week and weeks went by and we watched this donkey go from being basically feral to showing signs of loving and trusting humans. It wasn’t easy for the people who were working with her and she kicked them a few times and was untrusting and scared. Love and patience prevailed and she became a favorite at the rescue. After several more weeks my friend and I went to the rescue to see the donkey as well as the other animals at the rescue. My friend and I fell in love with Love and decided that we needed to take her home. She went from being an unhandled, scared, and neglected member of God’s creatures to being one of the most loving and desired. We took her home with us where she currently lives with a full sized horse and a mini horse. Their antics are hilarious and they act like a bunch of siblings. It has been said that one man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and this is definitely the case. The donkey that was thrown away is now an integral part of the family/heard that we have. She will never again know hunger and she will never be lonely or unloved.
Genesis has been officially adopted by our founder!
